“It is a common condition of being poor...you are always afraid that the good things in your life are temporary, that someone can take them away, because you have no power beyond your own brute strength to stop them.” ― Rick Bragg
Maybe you've been blessed never having to have experienced any form of want. If that is the case, I encourage you to focus your gratitude on that.
Do you ever remember what it felt like during those times? Do you ever think about what you learned about yourself and others during those times?
As a child my family had a very tough period and we had nothing. We had to do things to survive that we would never have chosen to do in different circumstances. I always think on that time as a huge blessing and always carry the lessons I learned with me. I learned value, gratitude, how to create food from very little, teamwork, and determination.
Today's challenge is to look back on your times of famine and list the lessons those times taught you. Are you using what you learned? Say thank you for those times and the lessons you learned.
